Team One Four Mission:
To transform the 9th floor of the M Health Fairview Masonic Children’s Hospital from feeling like someplace you go when you’re sick, to a space that feels like it’s making you well.
A Mission Bigger Than Himself.
Team One Four knows that while cancer can’t be cured overnight, we can create a better experience. Today, the 9th floor at the M Health Fairview Masonic Children’s hospital feels like, well, a hospital. And too often that means it feels like a place you’d go when you’re sick with cancer. It’s our intent to transform the 9th floor so when these kids and their families step off the elevator it feels like they’re in a place that’s going to help them get well.
If you find yourself getting off the elevators on the 9th floor of the M Health Fairview Masonic Children’s Hospital, as Casey O’Brien likes to say, “You’re not playing paddy cake.”
Quite the contrary, on the 9th floor if a patient turns right, it means they’re there to have a consultation with an oncologist, perhaps getting news on a recent scan. If a patient turns left, they’re scheduled for an infusion, likely chemotherapy.
Everyone on the 9th floor is going through something serious. But it wasn’t the severity of these situations that initially caught Casey O’Brien’s attention, it was how many of them there were. The 9th floor was always full. Every single day, that 9th floor of the M Health Fairview Masonic Children’s hospital was filled with kids and their families in the fight of their lives.
The creation of a Team One Four Transfusion Center will enhance and upgrade the 9th floor M Health Fairview Masonic Children’s Hospital. The transformation will include both capital improvements to upgrade facilities as well as expanded and enhanced programming. Our mission to fundamentally change the experience for the kids coming after Casey.

We hope the legacy of the Team One Four Transfusion Center at M Health Fairview Masonic Children’s Hospital will create a space that’s as inviting, positive, and fun as a hospital can be. We want these kids and their families to have a great experience as they go through their treatment.
